The feed is built to keep you scrolling. That's how LinkedIn makes money. You don't have to quit the platform to get your time back. Hide the feed and the rest of the site still works.
Step 1: Install LinkedIn Feed Blocker
- Go to the Chrome Web Store and click Add to Chrome.
- Click Add to Chrome.
- Confirm the permissions prompt. The extension only runs on linkedin.com. It does not need access to other sites.
That's it. No account to create, no email required.
Step 2: Visit LinkedIn
Once installed, go to linkedin.com. Your feed will already be hidden. You'll see a short message where the feed used to be. Messages, notifications, your profile, job search, and company pages all work the same as before.
The free version removes the infinite scroll so there is nothing sitting there waiting for you to drift into it.
Step 3 (optional): Unlock scheduling and breaks
The free version blocks the feed all the time, with no way to turn it off temporarily. For a lot of people that is enough. The feed was never the part you needed; it was just the part you kept opening out of habit. If you want more control, a one-time $4.99 upgrade (handled through Stripe) unlocks:
- Toggle on/off: turn the blocker off manually whenever you want
- 5-minute breaks: peek at the feed on a timer that shuts it back off automatically
- Scheduling: block the feed during work hours, outside work hours, on weekends, or any mix that fits how you use LinkedIn
To unlock it, click the LinkedIn Feed Blocker icon in your Chrome toolbar and select Upgrade. Payment is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and works across every Chrome browser you're signed into.
Why hide the feed instead of quitting LinkedIn?
Messaging, job applications, and networking on LinkedIn are still worth doing. The feed is the part with no stopping point. Hide the feed and you keep the parts of LinkedIn that help you without the part that eats your afternoon.
Troubleshooting
The feed still shows up after installing. Refresh the LinkedIn tab, or fully close and reopen Chrome. Extensions sometimes need a fresh page load to take effect.
I want to see the feed just this once. Without the paid upgrade, temporarily disable the extension from chrome://extensions. With the upgrade, use the built-in 5-minute break. It is faster and turns itself back off.
Does this delete or hide anything permanently? No. The extension only hides the feed visually in your browser. Nothing about your LinkedIn account, posts, or connections is affected, and everything reappears if you uninstall the extension.
